[:en]The Baku Court of Appeal today rejected a complaint against the administrative arrest of Elnur Yusubov, a member of the Organizational Department of the Popular Front Party (PFPA).
He was detained on July 26 and arrested for 30 days on charges of violating the quarantine regime.
As reported in the PFPA, Yusubov himself was present at the consideration of the complaint, who announced the falsification of the protocol on the commission of an administrative offense.
Yusubov described his arrest as part of the repression campaign launched against the PFPA after the “Karabakh action” on July 15.
Note that Yusubov has a young child in his care and the law prohibits administrative arrest of persons from this category. However, the court dismissed his complaint and the defense intends to apply to the European Court of Human Rights.
The day before, the Baku Court of Appeal also dismissed complaints about the administrative arrest for a period of 30 days of three more PFPA members – Sarvan Jumayev, Babek Muradov and Yashar Kerimov. They were also arrested at the end of July on charges of violating the quarantine regime. At the same time, their detention was formalized 2-3 days later. They will also apply to the ECHR, the PFPA said.
