On April 2, the Baku Serious Crimes Court continued hearing in the case of Musavat party activist, Azad Hasanov.
He was detained in October 2018 immediately after returning from Lithuania, where he was in political emigration for 4 years and charged under the Article 234.4.3 (drug trafficking on a large scale).
At today’s trial a witness Elvin Tagiyev gave testimony and introduced himself in court as a judo coach from the village of Ramana.
The accused, and the lawyer, pointing to no docking in the testimony of a witness in court and during the investigation, accused him of lying.
Azad Hasanov asked Tagiyev what brand and color was his mobile phone, which, according to a witness, was withdrawn from the pocket of the accused. He said that he did not remember.
At the same time, Hasanov indicated that he did not have a telephone at that moment, since the police had seized it before.
Lawyer Osman Kyazimov noted that the protocol on the examination of the witness claimed that the contents of the bags, allegedly seized from Hasanov, were gray, and in court he called their color “milky”.
In addition, it is understandable in court that he described differently the packaging of drugs attributed to Hasanov, as well as the external data of another witness.
The lawyer petitioned to re-interrogate two police officers who had previously testified as witnesses. The lawyer said that both of them refused to answer the court”s questions about the source of the operative information about the possession of Hasanov”s drugs, regarding it as a violation of the defendant”s right to a fair trial. The court granted the petition.
The next trial is scheduled for April 9.
Human rights activists recognized Hasanov as a political prisoner.

Azad Həsənov Tağıyevdən, şahidin sözlərinə görə təqsirləndirilən şəxsin cibindən çıxarılan mobil telefonunun hansı markalı və hansı rəngdə olduğunu soruşub. Hal şahidi xatırlamadığını deyib. Bu zaman Həsənov qeyd edib ki, həmin vaxt onun telefonu yox idi, belə ki, polis əməkdaşları telefonu müsadirə etmişdilər.

Vəkil daha əvvəl şahid qismində ifadə vermiş iki polis əməkdaşının yenidən dindirilməsi barədə vəsatət qaldırıb.
Vəkil deyib ki, hər ikisi məhkəmənin Həsənovun üzərində narkotik olduğu barədə operativ məlumatın mənbəyi haqqında sualına cavab verməkdən imtina ediblər. O, bunu təqsirləndirilən şəxsin ədalətli məhkəmə təhqiqatı hüququnun pozuntusu kimi qiymətləndirib. Məhkəmə vəsatəti təmin edib. Növbəti iclas aprelin 9-na təyin edilib.
