Member of the National Council of Democratic Forces and the Musavat Party Tofig Yagublu was released on November 18 after serving an administrative arrest of 30 days.
“The rules of detention in jail are harsh and merciless. Even the accused of serious crimes are not kept in such a terrible conditions. We need to change them, because they are contrary to human rights,” said Yagublu.
He confirmed that he was tortured immediately after being detained by the police. “I was tortured in the Nasimi district police department. There are still traces of this torture. I will go to the doctors.
The talk is about torture to expose the actions of the authorities,” he said.
Yagublu was detained at an opposition rally on October 19 during an unauthorized rally by the National Council in central Baku.
