[:en]Tofig Yagublu, a member of the Musavat party and the National Council of Democratic Forces, imprisoned in the Shuvalan pretrial detention center, was not handed over hygiene products brought from home, except for the mask. This was reported by his daughter Nigar Hazi.
According to her, Yagublu was not specifically handed over soap, toothpaste, other hygiene products, and replaceable clothes.
At the same time, as Hazi noted, Yagublu’s health condition is normal, and he maintains good spirits. In the coming days, Yagublu’s appeal will be considered.
Yagublu was detained on March 22 after an accident. Another vehicle hit Yagublu’s car, and its driver aggressively attacked the opposition member. However, Yagublu was detained and charged with hooliganism. The court chose a preventive measure in respect of him in the form of an arrest for a period of three months.
International human rights organizations condemned the politician’s arrest on trumped-up charges and demanded his immediate release.
